Lately, I've found myself asking a question I don't think I've ever seriously asked before:
Who am I in the Scriptures?
Not in the sense of trying to literally become a Biblical character, but in trying to understand where I fit into God's story. The more I read the Bible, the more I realize that every person God used had a journey, struggles, moments of obedience, moments of failure, and a purpose that unfolded over time. It makes me wonder what God is trying to teach me through those lives.
For a while now, I've felt like I've been moving through life with a lot of uncertainty. I know where I want to go professionally, and I know the kind of person I want to become, but spiritually I've been asking myself if I'm actually walking in the direction God intends for me. Instead of only reading Scripture to gain knowledge, I want to read it to gain direction.
That's really where Theosis began.
It didn't start because I wanted another AI project. It started because I wanted a companion for my own Bible study, something that could help me connect the dots across Scripture, surface patterns I would have otherwise missed, and help me understand how different people, stories, and events relate to one another.
More importantly, I want something that can challenge me with questions like:
"Who does my current season resemble?"
"What story in Scripture speaks to the decisions I'm facing?"
"What patterns keep repeating in my life, and where do I see those patterns in the Bible?"
I don't expect software to tell me God's will. That's not the point. I simply want a better way to explore Scripture, to reflect, and to discover connections that encourage deeper study rather than replace it.
I also want to build something that makes the Bible feel less like a collection of disconnected books and more like one living, interconnected story. Every person leads to another. Every event echoes something that came before or points toward something that comes after. The more I study it, the more I realize how beautifully connected it all is.
Maybe this project ends up helping other people one day. Maybe it only ends up helping me. Either way, I think it's worth building.
I have a feeling this project is going to teach me just as much about myself as it teaches me about software.
